Document Overview
The Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development (General) Rules, 1995 were notified on 22 August 1995 under Section 180 of the parent 1995 Act. Where the Act sets out what the Authority and Board are empowered to do, these General Rules set out how they actually convene and operate — committee procedure, forms, and administrative detail needed to run the Board and Authority day to day.
Key Provisions & Structure
Part I (Preliminary) defines terms used throughout — "Chairman," "Committee" (of the Board under Rule 5, or of the Authority under Section 23), "Form," "Schedule" and "Vice-Chairman." The rules then prescribe the procedural forms and committee mechanics the Authority (and by extension GMADA, as an Authority constituted under this Act) must follow when exercising its statutory powers.
