About this document
A Department of Housing & Urban Development notification (No.10/06/2021-6HG1/624, dated 19.04.2021) introducing the "Amnesty Scheme 2021" for all Urban Development Authorities in Punjab, including GMADA -- letting allottees who defaulted on instalments after 31.12.2013 clear their dues on eased terms.
The scheme, in full
- Applies to all properties auctioned or allotted by any method by any Development Authority.
- Available for 3 months from the date of notification.
- Any allottee who defaulted on instalment(s) due after 31-12-2013 may avail this scheme.
- The allottee must deposit the defaulted amount plus interest at the rate in the allotment letter -- simple interest only, not compounded, calculated to the deposit date.
- Cases where allotment was cancelled for default, or where there is litigation, may also avail the scheme -- except where physical possession has already been taken by an authority.
- Penalties levied by the Estate Office on outstanding amounts, per the allotment letter terms, are waived.
- Disputes over the amount due can be raised with the person deputed by the Estate Office.
- Each authority deputes one nodal officer to implement the scheme.
