A long-running dispute
The allotment (to Sh. Harnit Singh, son of Sh. Munsha Singh) was cancelled in 1994 for non-payment of instalments. What followed was years of litigation: the appellate authority restored the allotment in 2011; a revisional petition then reversed that in favour of a different claimant (Sh. Harjinder Singh, GPA holder) in 2012; GMADA challenged this at the Punjab & Haryana High Court (CWP No. 14926 of 2012, GMADA vs. State of Punjab & Ors.), which ruled in GMADA's favour, quashing both the 2011 and 2012 orders; a further Special Leave Petition to the Supreme Court was also dismissed. GMADA then reclaimed the house under Section 46(1) of the 1995 Act via letter dated 01.10.2014, but the unauthorised occupant did not hand over possession. This order is a final notice: it directs the occupant to vacate within 24 hours, failing which GMADA will vacate the house with police assistance and recover the cost from money already deposited by the occupant -- also referencing a ₹50,000 costs order the High Court imposed on 12.02.2013 in the same matter.
