GMADA Public Notice
Public notice regarding Eco City -3 Landpooling plot size options.
Overview of the Public Notice
The Land Acquisition Collector, Department of Housing and Urban Development (GMADA), PUDA Bhawan, S.A.S. Nagar issued a public notice for landowners whose land had been acquired for the Eco City-3 Project in New Chandigarh. According to the notice, the process for opting for Land Pooling was active. GMADA states that plot options against the acquired land had earlier been published in newspapers and on the GMADA website on: 6 February 2026 After considering requests received from landowners, GMADA introduced revised options for choosing residential and residential-plus-commercial plots.
Who Is This Notice For?
The notice applies to landowners whose land has been acquired for the: Eco City-3 Project, New Chandigarh It covers both:
- landowners who had not yet submitted a Land Pooling application; and
- landowners who had already submitted an option but wished to revise it according to the new options.
Two Types of Land Pooling Options
The notice provides two broad categories of entitlement.
Option A – Only Residential
Under this option, eligible landowners can choose their entitlement entirely in the form of residential plots. The residential plot sizes shown in the notice are:
- 500 sq. yd.
- 300 sq. yd.
- 200 sq. yd.
Different combinations are provided for landholdings ranging from 1 Kanal to 8 Kanal.
Option B – Residential + Commercial
Under Option B, eligible landowners can choose a combination of: Residential plots of:
- 500 sq. yd.
- 300 sq. yd.
- 200 sq. yd.
and commercial plots/sites of:
- 100 sq. yd.
- 200 sq. yd.
Different combinations are again provided according to the amount of acquired land.
Revised Choices Introduced After Landowner Requests
The notice specifically states that the revised options were made available after considering requests from landowners. This means the notice was intended to give affected landowners greater flexibility in choosing the size and combination of plots available against their acquired land.
Fresh Applications
Landowners who had not yet submitted their Land Pooling option were advised to:
- obtain or download the prescribed form
- fill in the required revenue and land details
- submit the completed application to the office of the Land Acquisition Collector, GMADA
Revision of Previously Submitted Options
Landowners who had already submitted Land Pooling applications were also given an opportunity to revise their earlier choices. According to the notice, such landowners were advised to update their previously submitted options within: 30 days The revised application was to be submitted to the Land Acquisition Collector's office during working hours.
What Happens If an Existing Applicant Does Not Revise the Form?
This is one of the most important provisions in the notice. GMADA states that if a landowner who had already submitted an application does not update the earlier form, the Land Pooling entitlement would be issued automatically on the basis of the revised entitlement schedule contained in this notice. Therefore, existing applicants who wanted a different available plot combination needed to actively submit a revised option.
Where Can the Application Form Be Obtained?
Application forms were available:
- for download from the official GMADA website: www.gmada.gov.in
- from the office of the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC).
Important Later Correction for 7 Kanal – Option B
A separate corrigendum subsequently corrected the entitlement for landowners having 7 Kanal of acquired land who selected: Option B – Residential + Commercial The corrected entitlement is:
- 1 residential plot of 500 sq. yd.
- 2 residential plots of 300 sq. yd. each
- 1 commercial plot of 100 sq. yd.
This corrected combination replaces the earlier combination shown in the present notice of: 500 + 300 + 200 sq. yd. Residential + 100 sq. yd. Commercial Therefore, the original 7 Kanal Option B entry in this notice should not be used without the later corrigendum.
Does This Notice Announce a New Land Acquisition?
No. The notice specifically concerns land that had already been acquired for Eco City-3. Its purpose is to provide Land Pooling choices and explain how landowners can submit or revise their options. It is not:
- a Section 5 SIA notice
- a preliminary acquisition notification
- a fresh acquisition proposal
- an award-announcement notice
What Should Eco City-3 Landowners Check?
Affected landowners should verify:
- exact acquired land area
- Khasra number
- ownership/share in the revenue record
- acquisition award details
- eligibility under the applicable Land Pooling Policy
- whether Option A or Option B is more suitable
- residential plot entitlement
- commercial entitlement, where applicable
- whether an earlier application was submitted
- whether that application needs revision
- applicable 30-day period for revising the option
- subsequent corrigenda or deadline extensions
Important Source Note on the Plot Combinations
The supplied OCR clearly establishes the two entitlement categories, available plot sizes, the 1-to-8-Kanal structure and the application instructions. However, several individual row entries in the scanned entitlement schedule are distorted by OCR. For gmada.in, the complete 1-Kanal-to-8-Kanal row-wise combinations should be transcribed directly from the original clear notice rather than reconstructed from this OCR copy. This is particularly important because the 7 Kanal Option B entry was subsequently corrected by GMADA through a separate corrigendum.
