Overview of the Corrigendum Notification

This corrigendum notification addresses Village Isa Khan in Tehsil Banur, SAS Nagar District. Published in May 2026, it updates or corrects earlier notifications related to this village and outlines ongoing development activities in the region. The updates address administrative decisions and land use changes that influence planning processes in Isa Khan. The Government of Punjab, Department of Housing and Urban Development has issued a corrigendum relating to the land-acquisition proceedings for the Aerotropolis Extension in Tehsil Banur, District S.A.S. Nagar.

The correction concerns the name of the village mentioned in an earlier Section 4 Social Impact Assessment (SIA) notification dated 27 February 2026. The earlier notification referred to the land as being situated in Village Isa Khan. During preparation of the revenue plan, it was found that Isa Khan is not recorded as a separate revenue village. According to the corrigendum, Isa Khan is a locality forming part of Village Banur.

What Has Been Corrected?

The earlier notification mentioned: Village Isa Khan, Tehsil Banur, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar This has now been corrected to: Village Banur, Tehsil Banur, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar

Why Was This Correction Required?

While preparing the revenue plan and identifying the Khasra numbers proposed for acquisition, the authorities found that there is no separate revenue village named Isa Khan in the official revenue record. Instead, Isa Khan exists as a locality within Village Banur. The Government therefore corrected the village name so that the land-acquisition records correspond with the official revenue record.

Project Covered

The corrigendum relates to land required for development of the: Aerotropolis Extension The earlier proceedings were initiated through a Social Impact Assessment notification under Section 4 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The notification refers to: Drawing No. DTP, S.A.S. Nagar 2451/2026 dated 27 January 2026

Land Area

One copy of the scanned text mentions approximately 46.46 acres, while another OCR reproduction appears to show 48.46 acres. Because of this OCR inconsistency, the exact acreage should be checked directly from the original scanned corrigendum before publication.

Does This Start a New Land Acquisition?

No. This corrigendum does not initiate a fresh acquisition. It only corrects the revenue-village description in the earlier Section 4 SIA notification. The corrigendum specifically states that: **all other provisions of the original notification remain unchanged.**This means:

  • the project remains the Aerotropolis Extension
  • the SIA proceedings remain based on the earlier notification
  • the purpose of acquisition has not changed
  • this corrigendum does not represent a new legal stage

Legal Stage

The underlying acquisition proceedings were at the Section 4 Social Impact Assessment stage when the original notification was issued on 27 February 2026. The corrigendum simply corrects the location from Isa Khan to Village Banur in the official records. It should therefore not be interpreted as:

  • a Section 11 preliminary acquisition notification
  • final approval for acquisition
  • an acquisition award
  • compensation determination
  • possession of the land
