• the land proposed for acquisition has been limited to the minimum area considered necessary for the project.

After considering the overall matter, the Expert Group has recommended proceeding with the proposed land acquisition.

Why Has This Notice Been Issued?

The purpose of this notice is to publicly disclose the recommendations of the Section 7 Expert Group and inform affected families and local residents about the findings of the Social Impact Assessment review. Copies of the notice have been sent to the concerned authorities, including:

• Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mohali
• Executive Officer, Municipal Council Banur
• Tehsildar, Banur
• concerned local representative/Sarpanch
• GMADA’s IT Wing
• the concerned Housing and Urban Development Department office.

The Executive Officer of Municipal Council Banur has also been asked to bring the notice to the attention of the concerned councillor. The notice directs that a copy should be displayed at prominent public places, such as Gurdwaras, temples, mosques, community facilities and other notice boards, so that local residents and affected families can be informed. It is also to be uploaded on GMADA’s official website.

What Happens Next?

This notice represents the Section 7 Expert Group recommendation stage of the land-acquisition process. It does not mean that the acquisition has been finally approved or completed. The Expert Group’s recommendations must subsequently be considered by the competent authority under the RFCTLARR Act before the acquisition can proceed to later statutory stages.
