• the proposed acquisition serves a public purpose
• the expected benefits of the project are considered greater than the identified social costs and adverse social impacts
• only the minimum land required for the project is proposed to be acquired.

Based on these findings, the Expert Group has recommended that the proposed land acquisition should move forward.

Why Has This Notice Been Issued?

The purpose of this notice is to disclose the Expert Group’s recommendations to affected families and residents of Village Tangori. Copies of the notice have also been sent to the concerned authorities, including:

• Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mohali
• Tehsildar, Mohali
• Sarpanch of Village Tangori
• GMADA’s IT Wing
• the concerned Housing and Urban Development Department office

The Sarpanch has been asked to display the notice at prominent places in the village, including Gurdwaras, temples, mosques, community facilities and other public notice boards.

What Happens Next?

This notice relates specifically to the Section 7 Expert Group recommendation stage. It does not mean that the acquisition has been finally approved or completed. The Expert Group’s recommendations are considered by the competent authority under the subsequent provisions of the RFCTLARR Act before the acquisition can move to the next statutory stage.
