Notice Regarding Land Acqusition for Aetropolish Extension of Village Banur.

• only the minimum land required for the project has been proposed for acquisition;
• no suitable previously acquired but unused land is stated to be available in the area; and
• if any previously acquired land is found unused, its possible use for a similar public purpose should also be considered.

Public Disclosure

The notice has been sent to the concerned authorities so that residents and affected landowners are informed about the decision. Copies have been forwarded to:

• Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mohali;
• Tehsildar, Banur;
• Municipal Council, Banur;
• Sarpanch of Village Banur;
• GMADA’s IT Wing; and
• the concerned Housing and Urban Development Department office.

The Municipal Council has been asked to bring the matter to the attention of the concerned councillor. The Sarpanch has also been asked to arrange a public announcement (munadi) in the village and display the notice at prominent locations such as Gurdwaras, temples, mosques, community centres and other public notice boards. The notice is also to be uploaded on GMADA’s official website.

What Happens Next?

Following approval of the Expert Group’s recommendations under Section 8, the authorities have been directed to continue with the next stages of the land acquisition process under the RFCTLARR Act, 2013. Further statutory notifications and proceedings may follow before the acquisition, compensation and possession process is completed.
