Why Has This Notice Been Issued?

The purpose of this notice is to disclose the recommendations of the Section 7 Expert Group and make the findings available to affected families and residents of the concerned villages. Copies of the notice have been forwarded to:

• Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharar
• Tehsildar, Kharar
• Sarpanches of Boothgarh, Kartarpur, Rajgarh and Kansala
• GMADA's IT Wing
• the concerned Housing and Urban Development Department office

The concerned Sarpanches have been asked to display copies of the notice at prominent public places in their respective villages, including Gurdwaras, temples, mosques, community facilities and other notice boards.

What Does Section 7 Mean?

This notice represents the Expert Group review stage under Section 7 of the RFCTLARR Act.It is important to understand that a Section 7 recommendation does not mean that the acquisition has been completed or that possession of the land can immediately be taken.

At this stage, the Expert Group has reviewed the Social Impact Assessment and recommended that the proposed acquisition should proceed. Further statutory steps and approvals are still required before the land-acquisition process can reach completion.

What Should Affected Landowners Check?

Landowners in Boothgarh, Kartarpur, Kansala and Rajgarh should carefully check subsequent official notifications to determine whether their particular land is included. They should pay particular attention to:

• Khasra number
• area of land proposed for acquisition
• subsequent acquisition notifications
