Overview of the Corrigendum for Aerotropolis Land Pooling

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has issued a corrigendum regarding its Public Notice dated 03 August 2026, which was published on 05 August 2026. The notice relates to the Land Pooling Scheme for Aerotropolis E, F, G, H, I & J. Through this corrigendum, GMADA has made a partial change to the plot entitlement provided under Option B – Residential + Commercial for landowners whose 7 Kanal or more land has been acquired.

Revised Plot Entitlement for 7 Kanal Landowners

Under the revised provision, eligible landowners who have opted for Option B (Residential + Commercial) will now be entitled to:

  • 1 residential plot of 500 sq. yd.
  • 2 residential plots of 300 sq. yd. each
  • 1 commercial plot of 100 sq. yd.

This revised entitlement replaces the earlier combination of 500 sq. yd., 300 sq. yd. and 200 sq. yd. residential plots, along with one 100 sq. yd. commercial plot.

What Has Changed?

The main change is in the residential plot entitlement. Earlier, the combination included residential plots of 500, 300 and 200 sq. yd. Under the revised arrangement, the 200 sq. yd. residential plot has been replaced with another 300 sq. yd. residential plot. The commercial entitlement of one 100 sq. yd. plot remains unchanged.

Other Conditions Remain the Same

GMADA has clarified that this is only a partial modification of the earlier Public Notice. All other terms and conditions mentioned in the Public Notice dated 03 August 2026 will continue to remain applicable.

Geographical Context of the Affected Sectors

The sectors E through J are located within the broader Aerotropolis development area in Greater Mohali. These sectors are central to GMADA’s master plan to develop an urban hub around the proposed Aerocity and supporting infrastructure. While the notice does not specify exact geospatial boundaries, these sectors are situated in the eastern part of Greater Mohali, characterized by planned road networks and connectivity corridors aligned with the Aerotropolis vision. Their strategic placement is intended to support high-density development, commercial zones, and transportation links.

Historical and Developmental Background

The Aerotropolis project represents GMADA’s ambitious plan to transform large land parcels into a systematic, integrated urban zone centered around the proposed airport infrastructure. Initiated through a series of notices in early 2026, specifically in February, March, and August, land pooling schemes were introduced to facilitate coordinated development. These schemes aimed to consolidate fragmented landholdings into larger plots suitable for planned urban use. The initial land pooling options included specific plot size specifications, intended to promote uniformity and efficient infrastructure deployment. The September 2026 corrigendum signals ongoing refinements to these schemes, reflecting GMADA's adaptive planning process as the project progresses.

Role in GMADA’s Development Priorities

This corrigendum underscores GMADA’s focus on fostering structured urban expansion within the Aerotropolis framework. By updating and clarifying the land pooling plot size options for sectors E to J, GMADA aims to streamline land acquisition, reduce ambiguities, and facilitate smoother progress in infrastructure development. These revisions support the broader objectives of establishing mixed-use zones—including residential, commercial, and transportation infrastructure—that are vital for the region’s economic growth and urban sustainability. The corrigendum also aligns with GMADA’s strategic vision of creating a balanced urban environment that integrates modern amenities with efficient land use planning in the Greater Mohali area.
